India’s food service sector is growing at a very rapid pace. QSR’s like McDonalds, KFC, Subway, Domino’s etc. are expanding at a very rapid pace all across India and they all require Quality product meeting their International standards. French Fries is one of the major selling products at these QSRs. At present there is only one plant, which is servicing these QSR’s. Lamb Weston, Godrej Tyson and some other importers are importing product to meet increasing demand from Catering and retail sector. There is a big demand of French Fries internationally and also in the domestic sector. There are only few handful of suppliers of the French Fries in India and abroad. This gap is increasing every month due to rapid Market Growth. In India French fries penetration is still limited to A cities. The demand would multiply when B and C class cities also start consuming the French Fries.  It is estimated that the French Fries & Specialty Potato products would go up to 536,000 Metric Tons / year by 2020.

There is an amazing business opportunity for bridging the gap between the demand & supply of the product. A complete French Fries line imported from France in year 2014 is for sale.

It is lying in packed condition in multiple containers in an 8 Acres land parcel EOU earmarked at Vadnagar (Gujarat). The processing capacity of the line is 10MT/hour of finished French fries of sizes 9 MM & 6 MM.

The machinery and equipments of the line are manufactured by reputed European manufacturer Kriemko.

This plant was originally set up by Unilever in France in year 2011.  Unilever used the plant for about a year and later sold it to Farm Frites of Belgium.  Farm Frites used it for 3 years and thereafter sold it to the company in year 2015.  The estimated expected life of the machinery is 30+ years.

An agro based EOU plant is allowed to sell 50% in domestic market and 50% is the export obligation. In case one has to cater 100 % domestic market, there will be a conversion charge of customs duty which will cost about 4 Cr.

About 2-3 acres plot size is required for setting up the plant with an RCC built up of approx. 30,000 Sq. Ft.
