Kurkumbh has been planned as Chemical and Pharmaceutical hub centre. It also has a CETP but the new industrial units with zero discharge are only allowed to be set up the industries in Kurkumbh. However, subsequently the units can apply and take the membership of CETP and may discharge the effluent in CETP once permission is granted. All Chemical, Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical industries in Kurkumbh are situated on the MIDC lease hold land. MIDC grants the lease of land for 95 yrs. Kurkumbh is one the progressive Industrial areas where infrastructure like electricity, water and roads are easily available. Other infrastructure like street lights, drainage lines are available along with a MSEB Sub-Station and a telephone exchange in Kurkumbh. Common Facility Centre is also located in the area.

Telecommunication Facility and Broadband

  • Companies like MTNL, Reliance Infocomm, Bharti Airtel etc. are providing telephone network in these areas.

There is no water scarcity as the requirement of the industries MIDC has provided water supply scheme of 12 MLD capacity. Present consumption – 4 MLD Surplus – 8 MLD.


Good wide roads are available in the MIDC which can cater for Trucks and Containers movements.


MIDC has provided Fire Stations in the industrial area.


Sub-Stations with 220 KV/33 KV/11KV level are installed and power supply made available through MSEB Sub-Station. Present consumption – 20 MVA. Surplus – 80 MVA.

Common Effluent Disposal Facility

MIDC has constructed Common Effluent Treatment Plant of 1 MLD capacity and the plant is fully operational.


 Good residential accommodation is available for staff and workers within 4-5 Kms. of the Industrial area. MIDC has also allotted residential plots to the Industries. Good Residential accommodation is available in Baramati and Pune for senior managers.
