As per revised guidelines of allotment of MIDC plots for storage / warehousing activities issued vide Circular No. MIDC/DCM/57/2008 dated 25 Apr, 2008, plots for warehouses and Godowns in MIDC industrial area are allotted at commercial rate or by way of auction. However, many entrepreneurs desirous of setting up warehouses / godowns in MIDC’s industrial are not in a position to buy plots at commercial rate. Since private land is available at a cheaper rate, it is observed that many warehouses / godowns / logistics parks have been established by the entrepreneurs on private land. In this regard, it was observed that as per MIDC’s revised DCR-2009, the storage activity has been included in the principal land use, similar to IT, BT and NT use and hence, it was felt necessary to revise Circular dated 25 Apr, 2008. The issue was discussed in the 367th meeting of MIDC Board and after detail discussion, Resolution No. 5592 was passed. Accordingly, following guidelines are issued in the subject matter vide Circular No. MIDC/CP/D83453/2016 dated 21 Nov, 2016
- A separate zone for storage / logistics / warehousing activity will be earmarked while approving Master Plan of the industrial area for new industrial area developed by MIDC.
- In case of an existing / already developed industrial area, storage / logistics / warehousing activities as well as industrial activities may be allowed, wherein a maximum of 15% of the total are under industrial plots will be allowed to be put to storage / logistics / warehousing activity. All such proposals will be submitted to the Head Office for approval of the Jt. CEO through Planning Department. Remarks of Fire Department will be taken while processing such proposals, if necessary.
- Plots for storage / logistics / warehousing activity will be allotted at industrial rate.
