Chakan MIDC, Pune: An Auto Hub Center of India

Temporary water supply scheme: At present 3.00 MLD capacity water supply is made available from existing 120 MLD capacity Pimpri Chinchwad Industrial area water supply scheme.

Permanent water supply scheme: MIDC has reserved 12 CM water storage per year in the Andra dam of Irrigation department. This source is about 18 Kms. away from the industrial area. Water can be lifted from proposed K.T weir on the Andra River near Talegaon industrial area. The 7.50 MLD capacity water supply is ready for the Talegaon industrial area from which permanent water supply will be made available by laying the gravity main of about 20 km to Chakan industrial area.


12.5 MVA Substation of MSEB already exists at Chakan. The same could be augmented by MSEB to fulfil the power requirement.  Power is available to the industry through MSEB.


Good wide roads are available in the MIDC which can cater for Trucks and containers movements.


MIDC has provided Fire stations in the industrial area.

Pollution Norms

All kinds of industries (except Chemical) are allowed in Chakan Industrial Area. MIDC insist for Zero Discharge to set up any industry.


Chakan has turned as one of the prime priority of many Multi National Companies due to multiple advantages as stated above. Land is available in Chakan through resale of MIDC/ Freehold land. MIDC has already allotted land to Chakan MIDC in different phases named as Chakan Phase 1, 2 and 3 but still the supply has not met the demand. So to meet the requirement, it has purchased and is purchasing land from the farmers.  The new purchased land will be directly allotted through MIDC. Last land parcel of Chakan is reserved for the Mega Project. The industry body had acquired 1436.15 hectares of land in Chakan phase II. Around 30 hectares of land in the phase II is now being reserved for mega projects in the area.
